The ceasefire announced last Friday (September 5) “is being introduced with major difficulties”. However, full-scale combat actions in the country’s east are currently stopped. Ukraine’s President Petro Poroshenko has stated this at an extended session of the government. Infographics by TASS
DONETSK /Rostov region/, September 12. /ITAR-TASS/. The Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) has not overseen movements of military hardware from Russia into Ukraine across the border, the head of the OSCE mission in the southern Russian Rostov region told reporters on Friday.

Paul Picard said that his mission did not see any movements of military vehicles across the Donetsk and Gukovo border checkpoints in the Rostov region, where their mandate was in effect.

The mission could observe flights of helicopters and drones along the border but their number was smaller than in the last weeks.

OSCE is in talks for prolonging the mission in the Rostov region but the final decision will not be made soon.
