MINSK, September 11. /ITAR-TASS/. Co-ordinating the visa regimes is a continuing process in talks between Russia and Belarus but a joint visa for the two-nation Union State is not under discussion, said an official in Minsk, the capital of Belarus, on Thursday.

"Negotiations on this issue are not being held now," said Belorussian Foreign Ministry press secretary Dmitri Mironchik.

His comments followed words from Union State Secretary Grigory Rapota speaking on Wednesday of a possible system being created between Russia and its neighbour-state similar to Schengen procedures working between countries of the European Union.

But, said Mironchik, "The extent of visa co-ordination between the two countries has constantly increased to reach a high level of integration."

Co-operation was also being conducted successfully with other states, he said, adding that decisions on implementig visa-free regimes with Turkey and Israel, the latter at a crucial stage now, had been taken this year.
