KIEV, September 09. /ITAR-TASS/. The Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council has no information about the number of Ukrainian soldiers held in captivity in the east of the country, the council’s spokesman Andrei Lysenko said on Tuesday. “We have no data,” he said.

The official said that 648 Ukrainian servicemen were released after the ceasefire was declared in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

“According to the General Staff information, 648 Ukrainian servicemen are released, and work is continuing to free others,” he said, adding the ceasefire process helped free detained Ukrainian servicemen.

He declined to give information about terms for the exchange of captives.

The ceasefire has been in force since September 5.
