BERLIN, September 08 /ITAR-TASS/. German Chancellor Angela Merkel on Monday invited Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi to visit her country.
In a telephone conversation, Merkel and al-Sisi discussed the development of Egypt and the situation in the region, government spokesman Steffen Seibert said.
“The Chancellor invited al-Sisi to visit Germany after the parliamentary elections in Egypt,” he said.
The date of the elections has not been set yet, but the polls will most likely be held before the end of the current year.
