SINGAPORE, September 04. /ITAR-TASS/. Malaysian Defense Minister Hishammuddin Hussein said on Thursday he would visit Kiev on September 6-7 to discuss the return of the Malaysian probe team to the MH17 crash site.

“Prime Minister Najib Razak has asked me to go to Kiev to get the agreement from the relevant parties in this matter," Hishammuddin said.

He said that the key purpose of his visit was to ensure safe access of the investigators to the July 17 crash site.

“The situation in eastern Ukraine, especially at the crash site, is very tense because there is a war going on. However, this has not dampened the Malaysians' will and our prime minister's vow to bring the investigating team back to the crash site and bring back all the remains of the Malaysians,” the minister said.

He also said he would visit Russia and the Netherlands to discuss the investigation of the plane crash that killed all 298 people on board.

An international team of investigators has worked at the Malaysian Boeing crash site for less than a week and had to leave the area on August 6 for safety reasons.
