East Ukraine violence 'killed 20,000' - Communist Party chief

KIEV, September 04. /ITAR-TASS/. Military action has killed around 20,000 in east Ukraine, Ukrainian Communist Party leader Petr Simonenko said on Thursday.

"This civil war has brought much grief," he added.

One million people now have refugee status and fled the country, Simonenko said. Fifty-four percent of Ukrainian citizens were demanding an immediate ceasefire and peace under any circumstances. Conflict resolution was top priority for 80%, he said.
