KIEV, September 2. /ITAR-TASS/. The Ukrainian parliament will meet on Thursday, September 4, behind closed doors to discuss the situation in the country.

Defense Ministry, security, economic and energy officials will be invited to the closed-door meeting, Speaker Oleksandr Turchynov said. “We will talk not for cameras, but concretely about the serious situation in the country,” he said.

The seventh convocation of Ukraine’s Verkhovna Rada, the national parliament, on Tuesday rounds up its fourth session and begins the fifth one.

The Rada did not go on recess this summer in the wake of the situation in the eastern Donetsk and Luhansk regions where the Kiev government has been conducting a mass-scale punitive operation.

The fifth session will be a brief one, as an early parliamentary election has been scheduled for October 26.
