CARACAS, September 02, /ITAR-TASS/. Venezuela’s President Nicolas Maduro has demanded that the Western countries stop pecking Russia. As he spoke on Monday in Caracas, he condemned the threats that the U.S. and European countries were meting out to Russia.
“We’re watching closely the treats to Russia,” Maduro said. “Venezuela that has an independent voice of its own demands that those who are issuing accusations to Russia stop pecking it and stop looking for pretexts for a war against it.”
He said that Western powers hurl threats at Russia and when it defends itself they accuse it of aggressive policies towards the West.
New sanctions the West is threatening with are an attempt to stop Russia and to send a message to China and other BRICS nations, Maduro said.
BRICS is an informal association of nations uniting Brazil, Russia, India, China, and the South African Republic.
