MINSK, August 28. /ITAR-TASS/. A contact group of Ukrainian, Russian and international officials is due to meet in the Belarusian capital, Minsk, “at the earliest possible time” to seek a political solution to the Ukraine crisis, said Belarusian Foreign Ministry spokesman Dmitry Mironchik on Thursday.
A date confirming the meeting is expected within days, he said, adding that "use of the Belarusian platform should facilitate a settlement".
The group was formed on the initiative of Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko in mediating moves supported by Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko.
