MOSCOW, August 26. /ITAR-TASS/. Journalists of the Crimean Telegraph, Yevgeniya Korolyova and Maxim Vasilenko, detained in eastern Ukraine, have been released, secretary of the Russian Union of Journalists Timur Shafir told ITAR-TASS on Tuesday.

“We have received confirmation that they are free. They are safe and sound,” Shafir said, adding that the Union had so far failed to get in direct contact with them.

The Russian Union of Journalists is maintaining close contacts with the Crimean colleagues, he said.

According to the Crimean Telegraph newspaper, reporter Yevgeniya Korolyova and photographer Maxim Vasilenko were detained on Sunday evening, August 24, by members of Ukraine’s nationalist Right Sector group in the war-torn eastern city of Donetsk.
