KIEV, August 20 /ITAR-TASS/. Militia fighters in Ukraine’s Luhansk region shot down a Ukrainian Su-25 assault plane over Lugansk on Wednesday.

“A Su-25 plane was shot down today while making a combat sortie. The pilot’s fate is unknown,” Andrei Lysenko, the speaker of the information and analytical center of Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council, said in a live interview with the 112 Ukraine television channel on Wednesday.

Earlier on Wednesday, the militias of the self-proclaimed Luhansk People’s Republic said they had shot down a Ukrainian assault plane over Lugansk. The militias are searching for the pilot who ejected himself.
