Three killed, pipeline on fire in Ukraine's town near Donetsk

Artillery strikes in east Ukraine’s war-torn Donetsk region have damaged a water-purifying plant and left several towns without water

DONETSK, August 19. /ITAR-TASS/. Three people were killed and dozens injured as the east Ukraine's town of Makeyevka near Donetsk came under the Ukrainian military's artillery fire on Tuesday, eyewitnesses said.

Local authorities reported that a gas pipeline in Makeyevka was damaged in the attack and caught fire.

Artillery strikes in east Ukraine’s war-torn Donetsk region have damaged a water-purifying plant and left several towns without water, Donbas Water Company’s press service said on Tuesday.

Continuous shelling in Donetsk has stopped water supplies to several towns with a population of 436,000.

The lack of power complicates the work of water-purifying plants in other towns.
