BRUSSELS, August 15. /ITAR-TASS/. Swedish Foreign Minister Carl Bildt acknowledged on Friday a catastrophic humanitarian situation in eastern Ukraine, but said the militia and Russia were responsible.
The humanitarian situation in the so-called people's republics is indeed catastrophic, Bildt said upon arriving for a meeting between EU diplomats over Iraq, adding that people were suffering greatly.
Efforts towards stopping the war would be the best assistance from Russia, the diplomat said as he again accused Russia of supplying military equipment to eastern Ukraine.
