16 lawsuits filed to European Court over rights abuse in Ukraine

MOSCOW, August 14. /ITAR-TASS/. Ukrainian human rights organisations and the Russian Civic Chamber have filed 16 lawsuits on rights violations in Ukraine to a European court, a chamber official said on Thursday.

“Our human rights partners in Ukraine provide legal aid to refugees. Some 150 lawsuits have already been lodged at Ukrainian courts and 16 lawsuits have been filed to the European Court of Human Rights,” said Georgy Fedorov, the chamber's coordinator of aid to Ukraine. The number of similar lawsuits lodged to the ECHR will reach several hundred by the end of this year, he said.
