US, Western interference in Ukraine domestic affairs causes crisis — North Korea FM

North Korean diplomatic agency noted that in all regions of the world the US “is engaged in intrigues, pursues a policy aimed at toppling legitimate authorities"

PYONGYANG, August 14. /ITAR-TASS/. Current dramatic events in Ukraine “are caused by interference of the United States and Western countries into domestic affairs of that country,” the spokesman for North Korean Foreign Ministry told ITAR-TASS on Thursday.

The main goal “of this backstage control (over the current events) is to create a pro-American regime in Ukraine and a circle around Russia,” the diplomat said. North Korean Foreign Ministry is convinced that Washington “instigates actively and abets to inhumane war crimes which are being committed in Ukraine".

“The US bears the main brunt of responsibility for the current situation in Ukraine that resulted in numerous victims among civilians,” the spokesman said. He also finds “the decision which the US and several other countries had taken to impose sanctions on Russia unjustified”. This measure seeks “to isolate and weaken Russia", the spokesman said.

North Korean diplomatic agency noted that in all regions of the world the US “is engaged in intrigues, pursues a policy aimed at toppling legitimate authorities and imposes unjustified sanctions on countries that pursue policies that do not suit them.”

In this situation, North Korea’s principled policy is “to combat decisively US attempts to overthrow legitimate authorities and state system through interference in domestic affairs of other countries by means of an unfair pressure, color revolutions and other illegal actions,” the diplomat said.
