Pentagon reports destruction of entire stock of sarin removed from Syria

Specialists on board the Cape Ray had set about neutralizing almost 20 tonnes of mustard gas

WASHINGTON, August 13. /ITAR-TASS/. All stocks of the toxic gas of sarin removed from Syria have been fully destroyed, Colonel Steve Warren, the Pentagon's spokesman, announced Tuesday.

Colonel Warren said the crew of the Cape Ray American naval ship completed the destruction of 100% of sarin. According to Warren, this refers to the neutralization of about 581 metric tonnes of the toxic agent.

Warren also pointed out that specialists on board the Cape Ray had set about neutralizing almost 20 tonnes of mustard gas.
