DONETSK, August 04, 22:13 /ITAR-TASS/. Over 700 Ukrainian government troops have surrendered to the local militias in the eastern Donetsk region, the Novorossiya news agency said on Monday.
“There is a message from the militiamen that 702 members of the Ukrainian army have surrendered in Shakhtersk, which is being held by joint militia forces,” the agency said, quoting one of the militia commanders as saying.
This information could not be confirmed from other sources.
Militiamen also said that they had used heavy weapons against the government troops twice during the day.
