KIEV, August 02, /ITAR-TASS/. The Ukrainian prosecutor general’s office said on Saturday there was “no answer” from Moscow regarding Ukrainian pilot Nadezhda Savchenko detained in Russia for killing its journalists.

Prosecutor General Vitaly Yarema said his office “is constantly addressing inquiries and letters about Savchenko to the Russian prosecutor general, but there is no answer”.

Yarema expressed hope that this issue would be resolved and “normal cooperation” would resume.

On July 9, Russia’s Investigative Committee charged Savchenko with being an accomplice in the killing of two Russian VGTRK television company reporters. She was detained in Russia and put in custody.

Investigators say that during armed hostilities in Lugansk in June Savchenko reported the whereabouts of the Russian journalists to gunmen who then fired mortars at the place where the reporters were staying, killing both of them.
