MOSCOW, August 01. /ITAR-TASS/. Most Russians have left Gaza that has been gripped by violence for nearly a month, the Russian Foreign Ministry said on Friday.

“Amid rising tensions in Gaza most citizens of Russia and some other CIS countries left the enclave for Egypt on July 31," the ministry said. Among them were 75 Russians, 37 Ukrainians and citizens of other ex-Soviet republics.

“Several Russian families (about 50 people) are currently in Gaza as they have refused to leave for different reasons. The Russian diplomatic mission maintains permanent contact with the Russians to provide them with possible assistance,” the ministry said.
