“On Friday morning Hamas militants have shelled our forces in the south of the Gaza Strip violating the ceasefire so,” the Israeli army press service told ITAR-TASS.
“We suspect that an Israeli army soldier was kidnapped and are taking all effort to find him,” the press service said.
Earlier in the day, Israeli Foreign Ministry accused Hamas of breaking a 72-hour humanitarian ceasefire which began at 5 am GMT. “Two hours and four minutes passed before Hamas had breached the ceasefire which both conflicting parties agreed on to have started in the morning,” the Israeli foreign political agency said in an official statement. Hamas movement “has violated or rejected already the eighth ceasefire,” the ministry said.
