Bolivian president calls Israel terrorist state

BUENOS AIRES, July 31, /ITAR-TASS/. Bolivia’s President Evo Morales has called Israel “a terrorist state”.

Bolivia introduced visa formalities for Israeli citizens, Morales said.

The Israeli operation “violates international humanitarian law and leads to numerous losses of lives”, he said.

Morales cut off diplomatic relations with Israel in 2009. He described Israel’s actions against Palestine as “genocide”.

On July 8, 2014, the Israel Defense Forces announced the start of the operation Protective Edge in the Gaza Strip against Hamas militants.

Last week, Human Rights Watch said Israeli air attacks on Gaza had been targeting apparent civilian structures and killing civilians in violation of the laws of war.

The Israeli healthcare ministry reported that since July more than 1,000 people had died from Israeli air and artillery fire on Gaza.
