KIEV, July 30. /ITAR-TASS/. The expert meeting on eastern Ukraine conflict settlement can take place in Minsk on July 31, Deputy Head of Ukraine presidential staff Valeriy Chaly said on Wednesday.

“The contact group meeting will need to resolve two issues: providing access to the Malaysian jet crash site and hostages,” he said. “It will not negotiate with terrorists, it will resolve contentious issues.” Therefore, Ukraine proposed a meeting with Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko assistance, Chaly added.

“The meeting will be held anyway. But if it does take place in Minsk, such assistance will be very useful for us,” Chaliy said describing the potential Belarus consent as “a step of a real partner”.

Contact group will meet following the expert meeting, he added.
