TEHRAN, July 26, 23:53 /ITAR-TASS/. Iran will support the efforts for ensuring stability and security in Iraq, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said on Saturday.
“The Iranian government and the people will continue contributing to the neighbouring state to preserving unity and security of all ethnic groups in Iraq,” Rouhani said in a message to Iraqi counterpart Fouad Masum.
Iran calls on Baghdad “to develop multilateral relations and carry out joint projects”, Rouhani said.
On Thursday, July 24, the Iraqi parliament elected veteran politician Fuad Masum the country’s new president.
