TEL AVIV, July 17. /ITAR-TASS/. Missile attacks on Israel from the Gaza Strip have been resumed immediately after the humanitarian truce finished. Precisely at 12:00 UTC simultaneously with the ending of the five-hour ceasefire, a missile fired from the Gaza Strip exploded near the city of Ashkelon in the south of Israel, according to the press service of the Israeli army.

It added that earlier, an Israeli soldier was wounded in an explosion near the border with the Palestinian enclave. The servicemen responded with mortar fire.

Israeli sources say that only two hours after the humanitarian truce came into effect a kibbutz in the Eshkol Regional Council came under attack from the Gaza Strip. Initially it was reported that three missiles exploded in a desert area. After looking into the circumstances of the incident, the army confirmed the fact of bombing, specifying that the Eshkol region was attacked with mortar fire.
