Ukraine promises to use weapons against violators of state border in Sea of Azov

On July 4, Ukraine’s National Security Council said that Ukraine would shoot down Russian helicopters in case they violated the country’s airspace

KIEV, July 07. /ITAR-TASS/. Ukraine pledged on Monday to use weapons with an intent to kill against any intruders who violate its state border in the Sea of Azov, which is divided between Ukraine and Russia.

Ukraine’s National Security Council said on July 4 that Ukraine would shoot down Russian helicopters in case they violated the country’s airspace.

"Those who refuse to obey the orders of the border guards will come under fire. Today, we had to use weapons against fishermen in the Sedovo district who were sailing in small floating crafts and refused to stop when they were noticed by the Donetsk ship,” Pavlo Shisholin, the first deputy head of Ukraine’s State Border Service, said.

Later, it turned out that Ukrainian fishermen had used the above-mentioned small floating crafts to fish in the sea in violation of the existing fishing rules.
