LUGANSK, July 04, /ITAR-TASS/. After artillery shelling of private houses by the Ukrainian Army in the city of Lugansk, its eastern districts were cut off power supplies Friday night, the press service of the Lugansk Town Hall said.
It cited the information provided by the city’s services for urgent repairs and rescues.
According to the data provided by the service, “as a result of damage done to a high-voltage transmission line, which occurred at 16:00 hours, the residents of Zhovtnevy district were disconnected from power supplies.”
“Since the water pumping stations are cut off from power supplies, too, there is no tap water at the households located in the eastern districts of the city,” the service said.
Teams of repair workers have been dispatched to the area to eliminate the aftermaths of the accident and to resume the supplies of electricity and water.
Eyewitnesses said earlier four explosions amid private households in the Malaya Vergunka area.
There was no information on either victims or destructions at the time of reporting.
