KIEV, July 04. /ITAR-TASS/. Ukraine has proposed the date and place for a new round of talks of the Contact Group for peace settlement in Eastern Ukraine. President Petro Poroshenko said this on Friday during a telephone conversation with EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton, according to the presidential press service.

During the conversation, Poroshenko assured Ashton Ukraine was proceeding from the Berlin accords reached by Foreign Ministers of Russia, Ukraine, Germany, and France, and that it was prepared for further work of the Trilateral Contact Group, including the next round of talks that will be held July 5.

“Ukraine awaits the confirmation of the date and place from other parties,” the report said.

Speaking on behalf of the 28 member-states of the EU, Ashton expressed support for Poroshenko’s actions, the press service claimed.
