BERLIN, July 02. /ITAR-TASS/. German Chancellor Angela Merkel and NATO Secretary-General Anders Fogh Rasmussen meet in the German capital on Wednesday
Ahead of their visit here, an official at the Federal Chancellor's Office said, "The talks will focus on preparations for a summit of the North Atlantic Alliance. The impact of the Ukrainian crisis on NATO, as well as a transition from the mission of the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) in Afghanistan to the 'Resolute Support' concept will be important subjects of discussion".
The NATO Secretary-General will also meet with Frank-Walter Steinmeier, Foreign Minister of the Federal Republic, and FRG Defence Minister Ursula von der Leyen. They are expected to discuss, among other things, cooperation with the FRG withn the framework of the Alliance in the military sphere, including that in the holding of exercises on the eastern borders of the bloc.
