WASHINGTON, June 30. /ITAR-TASS/. Over 100 marines of the USA and Philippines took part in joint maneuvers Cooperation Afloat Readiness, CARAT on the north-western coast on the Philippines, Associated Press reported Monday.

As reported by the representative of the Philippine Naval Forces, the maneuvers were held with the aim of field combat training upgrading. The exercises are not connected to the territorial dispute in the South China Sea, he added.
