Russian helicopter comes under fire in Somalia

PRETORIA, June 29 /ITAR-TASS/. A Russian Mil Mi-8 helicopter working under a UN contract in Somalia came under fire during a recent flight but no one was hurt in the incident, spokesperson for the UN mission in the East African country Ismini Palla said on Sunday.

The Mi-8 crew found a bullet hole in the helicopter’s rotor blade after a flight mission on Friday, the spokesperson said.

“The crew did not notice anything unusual during the flight and cannot say when and under which circumstances the bullet struck the rotor blade,” the spokesperson said.
