MOSCOW, June 27. /ITAR-TASS/. Russia calls on the Syrian government and the opposition to unite in fighting terrorism, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said.

Not all UN Security Council member-states are ready to include the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant in the list of terrorist organization, the foreign minister added. "I hope that we (the UN Security Council) will demonstrate unified standards towards all terrorists and all groups that use terrorist methods," Lavrov noted.

“We come against the US intention to provide $500 million aid to Syria. But I wouldn’t say Washington provided aid to support terrorists because the US understands its essence,” Lavrov said on Friday.

Russia feels that the United State shows interest in resuming a counter-terrorism operation, and Moscow is ready for it, Lavrov stressed.
