MOSCOW, June 17. /ITAR-TASS/. A Russian emergency airplane has delivered relief supplies to Syria and has evacuated 90 Russian and CIS citizens who wished to leave the country, spokesman of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations Alexander Drobyshevsky told ITAR-TASS on Tuesday.

“On Tuesday afternoon an emergency airplane Ilyushin Il-76 has delivered about ten tonnes of humanitarian cargoes, including blankets and canned meat, to Latakia,” he said.

Ninety Russian and CIS citizens, including 39 children, were evacuated by the same airplane from Syria, Drobyshevsky said. “As many as 62 Russian citizens, ten Ukrainian citizens, six Belarusian citizens and 12 Syrian citizens are among them,” the spokesman said. Specialists from Russian rescue group Tsentrospas, psychologists from emergency psychological aid centre and an emergency task group are accompanying them in the flight.

The airplane will make a landing at Moscow airport Domodedovo.
