China condemns attack on Russian embassy in Kiev

BEIJING, June 16. /ITAR-TASS/. China has condemned the attack on the Russian embassy in Kiev on Saturday, Chinese Foreign Ministry’s spokesperson Hua Chunying said on Monday.

“We believe that under the Vienna Conventions and respective international laws, the safety of diplomatic missions and their staff must be ensured,” the diplomat said.

Several dozen people stormed the Russian embassy in the Ukrainian capital on Saturday, blocking the entry to the embassy, pelting smoke barrels and firecrackers at the premises, and tearing down the Russian flag. Police did not stop the aggressive crowd.
