KIEV, June 12./ITAR-TASS/. The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said it was waiting for Russia’s reaction to President Petro Poroshenko’s plan for resolving the crisis in the south-east of the country.

“We are continuing our work towards a political and diplomatic resolution of the crisis in Ukraine and the conflict between Ukraine and Russia,” acting Foreign Minister Andrii Deshchytsia said at a news briefing on Thursday, June 12.

“The contact group has met. It worked out conceptual approaches towards implementation of this plan. We are now waiting for Russia’s response to his document,” he added.

He also noted that the president maintained “constant telephone contact with many international partners”.

In his inauguration speech on June 7 Poroshenko stated his crisis settlement plan in the south-east of the country. It calls for disarming those who have taken up arms, offers amnesty, proposes a broad peace dialogue, and urges early local elections in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, as well as economic reforms.
