MOSCOW, June 12. /ITAR-TASS/. Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov says what matters is not a format of the Russia-Ukraine talks, but the immediate ceasefire.

“We have been working with OSCE, with representative Heidi Tagliavini who is in Kiev, involved in negotiations with the Ukrainian side, with our ambassador,” the foreign minister told ITAR-TASS on Thursday. “In the framework of those contacts, we have been urging for an immediate implementation of the roadmap, which OSCE’s chairman presented following the visit to Moscow, and which is based on the Geneva statement of April 17.”

“Fist of all, it is stopping the violence and beginning a dialogue featuring Ukraine’s all regions,” Lavrov said.

“This is what we have been doing lately, and various initiatives at different levels are aimed at this two-pronged task - to stop the fire and to begin a true, not a decorative, dialogue on all the issues of the state structure.
