In Ukraine some Western countries observe their interests by discrediting Russia

MOSCOW, June 12. /ITAR-TASS/. Certain Western countries are observing their interests in Ukraine by discrediting Russia, head of the European Club Konstantin Kosachev said in an interview with the Russia Today channel.

“They have been thrusting on the people there the image of unattractive Russia,” he said. “In order to attract Ukraine, many EU and NATO countries say - come to us, Russia is bad, you will not be fine with it, it is an empire, it has less democracy, and so on. In other words, they are observing their interests in Ukraine by discrediting Russia.”

“It is very unseemly policy,” he said. “I would say, dirty policy.”

“Russia has never attempted to gain Ukraine’s sympathy by threatening it with the EU or NATO,” he added. “For many countries Russia is a more attractive partner than the EU.
