Ukrainian military resumes shelling of Sloviansk

Heavy fighting throughout last night was reported in the town of Kramatosk located 10km from Sloviansk

SLOVIANSK, June 03. /ITAR-TASS/. Ukrainian troops resumed massive shelling of the town of Sloviansk, Donetsk region, early on Tuesday, and warplanes have appeared over the town, a representative for the people's militia told ITAR-TASS.

"The Ukrainian military concentrated fire on the village of Semyonovka, where residents have had no electricity since a power cable was severed on Monday," the representative said. "Automatic fire is heard in different parts of the town. There's a fierce battle going in the north-east Sloviansk."

Heavy fighting throughout last night was reported in the town of Kramatosk located 10km from Sloviansk. Explosions and artillery fire were heard at the local airfield. Latest reports said three militiamen had been killed when their car was blasted by Ukraine's military near the village of Yasnogorsk, Kramatorsk area.
