Sports single-seat plane Yak-55M crashes at air show in Wisconsin, pilot dies

NEW YORK, June 02 /ITAR-TASS/. A single-seat sports plane Yak-55M crashed Sunday at an air show in the city of Stevens Point, Wisconsin.

Local authorities said the plane, when performing an aerobatic stunt, snapped into a spin and crashed 300 meters away from the runway. The 47-year-old pilot died. According to preliminary information, problems with the engine could occur in the plane.

All the remaining events of the air show were canceled. The authorities launched an investigation into the incident.
