Ukraine foreign ministry demands Russia’s explanations on border violations

Meanwhile, Russia’s embassy in Ukraine told Itar-Tass it had received no such note on Friday

KIEV, May 30. /ITAR-TASS/. Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry demands from Russia explanations on alleged illegal crossings of the border between the two countries, the ministry’s press service said on Friday.

“Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry has sent an official note to the Russian side demanding from it explanations about numerous reports of arrogant violations on the Russian-Ukrainian border, when armed people attempted to infiltrate into Ukraine from Russia,” the statement said.

Meanwhile, Russia’s embassy in Ukraine told Itar-Tass it had received no such note on Friday.

Overnight on May 30, a border patrol of the Ukrainian Border Service detained five armed persons while they were trying to illegally cross the state border into Ukraine’s territory, the Ukrainian foreign ministry said.
