Syrian opposition should join efforts for peaceful settlement — Russian Foreign Ministry

MOSCOW, May 28. /ITAR-TASS/. Russia has emphasized the need for patriotically-minded structures of the Syrian opposition to step up efforts aimed at settling the crisis in Syria by political means, consolidating the Syrian society and countering terrorism and extremism.

The Russian Foreign Ministry commented on Wednesday’s meeting between Russian presidential special envoy for the Middle East, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov and members of the Syrian Popular Front for Change and Liberation.

The Syrian delegation includes a member of the Front, Vice-Premier Qadri Jamil, members of the Front’s leadership and leaders of the opposition parties - Alya Arafat, Fateh Jamous, Mazen Mughrabi, Youssef Salman, Salah Abbas Habib and Adel Naisa.
