SUKHUM, May 28. /ITAR-TASS/. Parliament of the South Caucasian Republic of Abkhazia has adopted an address that urged people, leadership and all political forces in the republic to engage in a constructive dialogue “to preserve a nationwide accord and stability in the country".
“Abkhaz people have always showed historical wisdom and ability to find correct decisions in the hardest times. The People’s Assembly, Abkhazia’s parliament, is a supreme legislative body in the country which represents interests of all Abkhaz people and takes measures needed to normalize and settle a difficult political situation,” the address reads.
“Parliament uses all available powers for final settlement of domestic political tension,” the document runs.
Nineteen of 35 lawmakers attended an Abkhaz parliamentary meeting when the address was issued.
