Draft documents on Ukraine’s withdrawal from CIS submitted to Verkhovna Rada

KIEV, May 27. /ITAR-TASS/. Draft documents on Ukraine’s withdrawal from the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) have been submitted to the Verkhovna Rada administration, Ukraine’s parliament-appointed Foreign Minister Andrii Deshchytsia told journalists on Tuesday.

“Draft resolutions to this effect are at the Verkhovna Rada,” he said.

On Monday, May 26, secretary of Ukraine’s Security Council Andriy Parubiy told journalists that Kiev has launched the process of withdrawing from the CIS. “The Ukrainian Security Council made a decision not only to cut short Ukraine’s presidency in the Commonwealth of Independent States but also to begin the process of withdrawal from the organization,” he said.
