Moldova joins CIS Interstate Humanitarian Cooperation Fund

The republic’s parliament on Friday voted in favour of the corresponding resolution of the government

CHISINAU, May 23 /ITAR-TASS/. Moldova has joined the Interstate Humanitarian Cooperation Fund of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). The republic’s parliament on Friday voted in favour of the corresponding resolution of the government.

More than 40 projects sponsored by this fund have been realized in the recent years in Moldova. Such projects included a forum of the intellectual elite of CIS countries, an international music festival, the Youth Delphic Games and a series of seminar for archaeologists, art conservator and museum specialists.

Moldova joined the Agreement on Humanitarian Cooperation between the Countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States in 2006 with a number of reservations that hampered its joining the agreement on the interstate fund. In 2012, the Moldovan government canceled these reservations.
