GENEVA, May 21. /ITAR-TASS/. The European Union sued Russia in the World Trade Organisation (WTO) over anti-dumping import customs duties on light commercial vehicles (LCVs) from Germany and Italy.

“Anti-dumping customs duties are incompatible with the WTO rules,” the EU office at the WTO said in a statement transmitted to ITAR-TASS.

According to current WTO rules, the litigating parties will have 60 days for consultations, after that if the dispute is not settled Brussels has the right to demand formation of an arbitral group of experts.

This is the third EU lawsuit versus Russia within the WTO which Russia entered in August 2012. The first probe began in the previous year over the foreign-made car scrapping tax and the EU has taken a legal action versus Russia over the ban on pork supply from Europe in early April.
