Ukrainian radicals threaten Party of Regions reps with physical reprisals

“A group of radically minded people attacked and destroyed several campaign tents in Krivoy Rog", Alexander Vilkul, a Party of Regions leader, said

KIEV, May 20 /ITAR-TASS/. Ukrainian radicals are threatening representatives of Ukraine’s Party of Regions with physical reprisals ahead of the May 25 presidential elections in Ukraine, Alexander Vilkul, a Party of Regions leader, said on Tuesday.

“A group of radically minded people attacked and destroyed several campaign tents in Krivoy Rog; the radicals beat up people inside the tents and stabbed one activist with a knife,” Vilkul went on to say.

“In April-May this year, organized groups of camouflaged people consistently destroyed campaign tents in (Ukraine’s) Dnepropetrovsk region. The systemic nature of those radical attacks proves the actions were pre-planned,” Vilkul stressed.

The Dnepropetrovsk regional organization of the Party of Regions has condemned all radical actions and voiced its protest against such violent methods of waging a political struggle.
