Turchynov seeks to investigate Ukraine's Communist Party activity

KIEV, May 13. /ITAR-TASS/. Ukraine's parliament-appointed Acting President Oleksandr Turchynov believes it is necessary to investigate the activity of the country's Communist Party (KPU).

"I intend to forward a request to the Justice Ministry to probe the Communist Party's activity for involvement in separatism. If the Party's guilt is proven, it has to be banned," Turchynov said.

He made the statement after Communist leader Petro Symonenko had supported advocates of federalization in the east of the country.
