Putin, Merkel discuss situation in Ukraine

They noted it was important to hold talks on gas supply security as soon as possible

MOSCOW, April 25./ITAR-TASS/. Russian President Vladimir  Putin and German Chancellor Angela Merkel have discussed the situation in Ukraine, including Kiev's unwillingness to fulfill the Geneva agreements of April 17.

They noted it was important to hold talks on gas supply security as soon as possible with the participation of representatives of Russia, the European Union and Ukraine, the Kremlin reports.

President Vladimir Putin harshly condemned the attempts of the regime in Kiev to use armed forces against civilians in the southeast of the country.
