KIEV, April 23. /ITAR-TASS/. The interim authorities in Kiev are intentionally using false statistics in ideological standoff, Oleksandr Golub, secretary of Ukraine’s parliamentary Committee for information and freedom of speech, said on Wednesday.

“Reports are not written with an aim to reflect the real situation in economy but for tickling vanity and using the figures in ideological standoff. However, these discrepancies will have a painful impact on the life of every Ukrainian family,” the local media quoted Golub as saying.

“Economic indicators exist separately from life of real people. Moreover, the official data is often incorrect and contradictory. Already now, millions of our compatriots cannot afford to buy essentials. The dollar rate instantly affects prices making a number of consumer goods unavailable to the population. New and new people are losing their jobs every day,” Golub stressed, adding people were being forced to defend their rights to work and decent social security in Ukraine these days.
