MOSCOW, April 22. /ITAR-TASS/. Russia’s presidential special envoy for the Middle East Mikhail Bogdanov and Syria’s former vice-premier Qadri Jamil have discussed the settlement in Syria and around it.
“During the meeting, the Russian deputy foreign minister and a member of Syria’s opposition Popular Front for Change and Liberation agreed on the need to find the political resolution in Syria,” the Russian Foreign Ministry says.
On Monday, April 21, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov held a telephone conversation with UN/LAS Special Envoy for Syria Lakhdar Brahimi on the Syrian settlement.
“Sergei Lavrov and Lakhdar Brahimi discussed ways to settle the crisis in Syria by peaceful means. Lavrov stressed the need to resume talks between the Syrian government and the opposition,” the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
