Relations with Russia remain important for Kazakhstan — Nazarbayev

ASTANA, April 18. /ITAR-TASS/. Relations with Russia remain an important direction of Kazakhstan’s foreign policy, President Nursultan Nazarbayev told the country’s people’s assembly on Friday.

He noted a crisis in international relations.

“Under these complicated conditions, I am stating - Kazakhstan and Russia are good neighbors, allies and strategic partners. We have base agreements in this sphere: last year we signed an agreement on good neighboring and alliance in the XXI century, and an agreement on the military and technical cooperation between our countries. Quite soon, both countries will finalize all ratification procedures on the documents,” the president said.

Kazakhstan “always had, has now and will have in the future most close friendship with its neighbors - countries of Central Asia, with Russia and China,” he said.
